Baisc Duties

Islam has given basic duties which Muslims must perform. They are Know as the Five pillare of Islam.These Pillars are mentioned in the following Hadith .

               "Islam is based on five things : Declaring that there is no GOD but ALLAH and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, hte establishment of Salah , the payment of Zakah , The Hajj and sawm in the month Ramadan"

 The Five Pillars Mentioned in Hadith are :

1: Shahadah   
2 : Salah
3: Zakah
4: Sawm( fasting)
5: Hajj

Now discuss all these briefly 

1; Shahadah  

                                    A Muslim Declares his Faith by reciting :

                                                             لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰهِؕ

La ilaha illal Muhammadur rasulul lah

These words mean" There is No GOD but Allah ,Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."

  This  declaration is called as Kalimah Tayyibah. Its summarizes the Whole of Islamic belief.The First part (La ilaha lllal) is about the Oneness of Allah . while the second part ( Muhammadur rasulul lah ) concerns the prophet hood of Muhammah (peace be upon Him).

      The first Pillar of Islam is Shahadah which concern belief in tawhid and Risalah of Muhammad(pbuh). One should come Islam and Declare his Faith by reciting Those Arabic words written above .


2: Salah

                        Salah is the second Pillar of Islam . It refers to the Five compulsory daily prayers . Salah is offered five times a day individually or in congregation.We offer Salah to remember Allah .It bring us Closer to him . The Quran says :


                          " Establish Salah to remember me ( ALLAH). (20:14)

Salah is the practical proof of our faith in Allah and Islam .It has been made compulsory at certain fixed times. Allah  says in Quran :

                                    "Salah at fixed times has been enjoyed on the believers." (4:103)

The Five Daily prayers are :

1:Fajar
2:Zuhur
3:Asar
4:Maghrib
5:Isha

3:ZAKAH
                
                   Zakah (welfare contribution) is the Third Pillar of Islam. The Word  Zakah means " To purify or cleanse" .Zakah is to paid once a year on savings at the rate of two and half per cent . This rate applies to Cash ,Bank saving and Gold and Silver Jewellery . The rate for cattle and  agricultural procedure is
different.
     Paymen of Zakah is a mean of keeping our wealth clear of greed the selfishness. It also encourages us to be honest in our earing and expenditure .  

Through the Payment of Zakah the Rich share their wealth with the poor and thus the process of concentration  of wealth is checked and fair distribution is ensured.

4 : Sawm ( Fasting)


                                                                      Sawm is the 4th Pillar of Islam , All adult Muslims Do this ibaadat from Dawn to Sunset in the form of Fasting during The month of Ramdam . They should not drink nor Eat and conjugal relation in the hours of fasting.

5: Hajj

            Hajj is the 5th Pillar of Islam. Muslims performed Hajj durong the period from 8th to 13th DHUL HAJJAH.. Hajj is perform in a way that one should Visit AL _ KABAH the House of ALLAH in Makkah only once in their Life. Hajj should have to perform who can afford to make a journey
